The manas serves as a relay station connecting the Tathāgatagarbha with consciousness, conveying elements from the Tathāgatagarbha to consciousness. Not only does the manas function as a relay, but it also inherently retains memories of events experienced throughout countless kalpas. These events simultaneously exist as seeds within the Tathāgatagarbha, and the manas consistently corresponds and harmonizes with these seeds.
When a particular event is required, the manas prompts consciousness to recall it. The manas then passes the event to consciousness, enabling consciousness to recall it and subsequently begin processing it.
