The Love of Worldly Beings and the Love of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas

The love of worldly people is always predicated on some form of personal benefit for the small self. If such benefit is not guaranteed to the individual, that so-called love will vanish or turn into hatred. In contrast, the great love of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is selfless and egoless, aimed at bringing benefit to all sentient beings. It is for this reason that they are willing to pay any cost for the sake of Buddhism and all sentient beings, regardless of slander or unreasonable provocations from others.
