The Relationship Between Manas and Vijñāna

Who is the dream-maker? Based on what are dreams created? Who is lost, unable to distinguish between the dream and reality? Why are there so many secrets in the subconscious mind? From where do these secrets originate? Why does the conscious mind have no secrets? The mind-root manages the treasury of the tathāgatagarbha, watching over it, while the conscious mind manages the treasury of the mind-root, guarding the mind-root. This is quite intriguing. The guarded one possesses treasures, while the guard enjoys the treasures. The guarded one is the master, serving a great purpose; the guard is the servant, depending on the master for sustenance.
