The Environment Transforms According to the Mind

When some sentient beings diligently cultivate and study the Buddha's teachings, their ignorance and afflictions diminish and their merit increases, which will inevitably transform the material world (bhājanaloka) of their own minds. At the same time, the tathāgatagarbhas of sentient beings sharing the common karma will resonate with this, manifesting a beautiful and abundant material world; the world will appear more beautiful, and various resources will become plentiful. When the world becomes increasingly beautiful and abundant, sentient beings with good roots and merit who correspond to it will be reborn here, thereby influencing and leading the world to become even more beautiful and radiant. Sentient beings with insufficient merit will not correspond to this world, and beings of evil karma will grow fewer and fewer. This is a virtuous cycle. The reverse is a vicious cycle: beings of evil karma increase, beings of wholesome karma decrease, and bodhisattvas are unwilling to come to this world, so the living environment of this world will deteriorate. What is called the change of the world is, in fact, the change of the material world within each sentient being's own mind.
