Why Is the Perception of Form Objects Impossible When the Eye Faculty Is Impaired?

The eyes and the other six sense bases are like a display monitor, and the one who watches the display monitor is the eye-consciousness and the other six consciousnesses. The display monitor is always on, but the person does not necessarily watch it at all times. Regardless of whether it is watched or not, the people and things in the display monitor are always playing and manifesting. What the display monitor manifests is determined by the Tathagatagarbha, and whether the six consciousnesses watch or not is determined by the manas. Whether to change the channel is also determined by the manas. As for what to watch and what not to watch, it will also be suggested by the watcher, the six consciousnesses, and after the manas adopts it, it is decided by the Tathagatagarbha based on the karmic seeds. Therefore, all dharmas in the display monitor are manifested through the combined function of the three transforming consciousnesses. If the eyes are damaged, it is equivalent to a problem with the monitor's switch, and if the switch is repaired, the eye-consciousness will still see the people and things in the monitor. But if the eye faculty is damaged, it does not mean that the seeing nature of the eye-consciousness is absent, and the eye-consciousness can still see darkness. A black screen of the monitor is also a state of the monitor, and the watcher can also see it; if the eyes are damaged, the eye-consciousness can see darkness.
