No karmic action goes without retribution; therefore, everyone must be extremely cautious in speech and conduct, refraining from reckless behavior or uttering careless words. This is especially true regarding the Dharma—one should not act on one's own assumptions or personal opinions. The Buddha taught that until one attains Arhatship, one should not trust one's own mind, for the mind is not to be trusted. Once one creates negative karma in relation to the Dharma, the suffering in Avici Hell will be countless times greater than that in the human realm, beyond endurance.
