What Is the Magnetic Field Effect?

Magnetism is a powerful force, an energy that draws people together. "Field" refers to a place, a site, a location, a support, a basis. Energy fields include material energy fields and non-material energy fields. Material energy fields are the gravitational and centripetal forces formed by the four great elements. Non-material energy fields are the gravitational and centripetal forces formed by consciousness, mental factors, and dharmas.

Of course, energy fields also have repulsive forces; they have negative energy. Negative energy is unwholesome energy. When the field effect is negative, it can drain your positive energy, causing you to lose some of your wholesome energy. Stay away from people with negative energy to keep yourself optimistic and positive every day. There are still many people with weak negative energy fields. Dealing with them all would be difficult. However, whether someone has a negative and weak energy field is relative. To some people, it's negative; to others, it might be positive. To some, it's a weak field; to others, it might be strong. This difference arises due to varying conditions and potentials. If the karmic connection is wholesome, the energy field is attractive; if it's unwholesome, the energy field is repulsive. Material energy fields have gravitational waves; what causes attraction and repulsion in non-material energy fields?

If a non-Buddhist is sitting opposite you listening to your Dharma talk, you immediately feel immense pressure. Different paths mean different energy fields; their field causes significant interference, and the greater the wrong views, the greater the obstruction. The supreme Dharma teachings you originally planned to deliver will feel awkward and unsmooth when spoken in front of a non-Buddhist. When people are too different, they cannot stay together; otherwise, it leads to unhappiness. Both sides feel pressure, and in severe cases, disputes and conflicts arise, making everyone uncomfortable. The same applies to marriage and family; only those who are culturally compatible live happily and harmoniously. A group should also consist of like-minded individuals gathering together, with generally similar levels, for the group to be harmonious. Otherwise, there will be disputes and conflicts, and everyone will experience psychological pressure. People of lower levels will impact the energy field of those at higher levels, pulling them down. Meanwhile, those at lower levels, unable to keep up with the higher ones, will harbor resentment. It's difficult to balance the relationship; achieving equilibrium in the energy field is hard to reach.

The Buddha also once avoided all his disciples, going alone into the forest to sit in meditation, not allowing any disciples to come near, not even his attendant Ananda. The Buddha was constantly subjected to the impact of energy fields from sentient beings weaker than himself, which inevitably affected his mental strength and physical energy. The Buddha was perpetually sought after and needed by sentient beings, always giving, only giving out without receiving. How incredibly strong must his mental strength have been! Why are all Buddhas lonely? Because there is no one whose energy field corresponds to theirs. The Buddha is always the giver, the bestower, while others are the receivers. There is difference, not equivalence, hence the loneliness. When Bodhisattvas come to this world, they are also lonely. There are no equals. They are always outwardly giving, saving, and liberating. Their energy field radiates outward without drawing inward. Over time, their own field's energy is consumed. When energy becomes insufficient, physical strength and mental power weaken. This is also the principle of bearing the karmic burdens of sentient beings.

All Buddhas have perfected all dharmas; they are the Great Heroes, possessing great power. Why are they still affected by sentient beings? Because having a physical body consumes energy, requiring replenishment. When the Buddha withdrew from the crowd to sit in meditation, he was replenishing energy. Without a physical body, one would not be affected. Throughout Buddhist history, all practitioners cultivated alone, in solitude. There were no companions. Having companions meant one could not achieve realization. Because it is impossible to find fellow practitioners with the same path to accompany each other; mutual companionship weakens the energy field, making cultivation difficult to accomplish.
