Once the six consciousnesses, or rather the seven consciousnesses, or one's own eight consciousnesses, become involved in the perception of matter, the three transformative consciousnesses can manifest and alter the state of matter. That is to say, an essential realm, composed of its fixed four great elements, must undergo changes in the number and even the proportional structure of its particles upon entering the superior sense organs of the human eye. When this realm falls into the consciousness of the five sensory consciousnesses and the mental consciousness, and is manifested by the sixth consciousness, how could the manifested realm not change? How could the realm remain unaltered? However, the change only affects the realm manifested by the sixth consciousness; the essential realm remains as it is. Therefore, in the double-slit experiment, a light wave collapses into a particle state upon observation. Similarly, when a plant or animal is raised by different people, its vitality and state of life will differ.
