Principle of the Double-Slit Experiment

Once the six consciousnesses, or rather the seven consciousnesses, or rather one's own eight consciousnesses join in the perception of matter, the three transformative-agency consciousnesses (pariṇāma) can manifest and alter the state of matter. In other words, an essential realm (essence-object) is composed of fixed particles of the four great elements; once it enters the supreme faculty (indriya) of the human eye, the particles of the four great elements must undergo change, with their quantity and even their proportional structure changing. When it falls into the minds of the five consciousnesses and the mind consciousness, how could the realm projected and revealed by means of the six consciousnesses not undergo change? How could the realm not be altered? But this alteration only changes the realm projected and revealed by the six consciousnesses; the essential realm will remain as it is. That is why, in the double-slit experiment, once the light wave is observed, it becomes particle-like; and that is also why, when a plant or an animal is raised by different people, its state of life and vitality will differ.
