How Does Consciousness Coordinate with Manas to Observe the Five Aggregates?

When contemplating the Five Aggregates, the information from contemplation is simultaneously transmitted to the manas. If the manas does not comprehend it initially, nor upon the second encounter, as time passes, it will come to understand and become imbued with it, thereby accepting the results of the conscious contemplation. This occurs because the manas activates its own unique function of deliberation and judgment. When in a state of meditative concentration (dhyāna), the manas can also engage in deliberation based on the line of thought from the conscious contemplation—either independently, or jointly with consciousness. The more evidence consciousness gathers and the more clearly it articulates the principles, the more profoundly it influences the manas. Consequently, the manas becomes increasingly capable of independent deliberation, thereby working together with consciousness to eradicate the view of self (satkāya-dṛṣṭi) and jointly realize the fruition (of the path).
