Lectures on the Sutra of the Father and Son Compendium (46)

Experiencing the Dynamic Nature of the Wind Element During Meditation

The wind element within the body may move either upwards from below, downwards from above, leftwards from the right, or rightwards from the left. This is the dynamic nature of the wind element. When we engage in meditation, we can perceive this; as the channels move, we become aware of it. The channels are the wind element; wherever the channels reach, bodily sensations manifest there. Originally, while sitting, the body may be slightly bent. However, once the wind element circulates to the back of the body, the back immediately straightens. Without any deliberate effort to sit upright, the body naturally straightens itself. This demonstrates the dynamic nature of the wind element and its governing influence over the body.
