Explanation: If some dharmas arise with feeling as their condition, are they all craving? If they are all craving, are they all conditioned by feeling? Answer: This question should be divided into four alternatives: First, there is craving that arises not with feeling as its condition, such as yearning for the excellent liberation, and relying on love for wholesome dharmas while abandoning other cravings;
Second, some dharmas arise with feeling as their condition, but these dharmas are not included within craving; for example, apart from dharmas that arise with feeling born of contact accompanied by ignorance as their condition, the arising of the remaining links of dependent origination — for instance, feeling born with contact accompanied by ignorance as its condition, feeling born with unconditioned (undefiled) contact as its condition — dharmas that arise with such feeling as their condition are not dharmas included within craving; Third, some dharmas arise with feeling as their condition and also belong to the link of craving, such as the defiled craving that arises with feeling born of contact accompanied by ignorance as its condition; apart from the dharmic characteristics described above, all belong to the fourth alternative.

Explanation: Question: If some dharmas arise with craving as their condition, do these dharmas all belong to the link of grasping? If these dharmas are all grasping, are they all born with craving as their condition? Answer: This question follows the latter sentence; the answer accords with the latter sentence (设是取者。皆爱为缘耶。 "If they are grasping, are they all conditioned by craving?"). That is to say, all grasping arises only with craving as its condition; or dharmas that arise with craving as their condition are not all grasping — there are also the remaining links apart from grasping, as well as diligent effort and other such wholesome dharmas that arise conditioned by love for wholesome things.
All grasping arises with craving as its condition, but dharmas born with craving as their condition are not all grasping; there are also dharmas other than grasping that are born with craving as their condition, such as the links of existence, birth, aging-and-death, and so forth. If there is no craving, and craving has been completely eradicated, these links will no longer arise; they all cease. Craving is the direct condition for grasping and the indirect condition for the other links — all of them arise because of craving.
