Question: How to understand that all dharmas are suchness? Is it because the present moment of all established dharmas is illusory, and the substance of the illusion is suchness?
Answer: Since all dharmas are illusory, who creates them? How are they created? Once this is clarified, one can understand why it is said that all dharmas are suchness. All dharmas are created by tathagatagarbha; they are created by tathagatagarbha using the seven great seeds. And tathagatagarbha and its seeds do not move or change with the dharmas; they are real and unchanging, and are called suchness. All dharmas that are produced are essentially the nature of tathagatagarbha, so they are also suchness. This is the meaning of "all dharmas are suchness."
