To realize the mind and perceive the true nature is to comprehend the Tathāgatagarbha mind, attain the inherently pure mind of Tathāgatagarbha, and perceive the nature of Tathāgatagarbha, which is to perceive the Buddha-nature. This is the deluded mind realizing the true mind. Because the deluded mind has always been obscured by ignorance, it does not know the true reality of the Dharma realm. It mistakes the five aggregates of the mundane world as real, taking them as "self" and "what belongs to self," thus giving rise to self-attachment and dharma-attachment. Only after realizing the true reality of the Dharma realm, which is Tathāgatagarbha, does one come to understand that all phenomena are manifested and revealed by Tathāgatagarbha, and are not real. Gradually, self-attachment and dharma-attachment will be eradicated, thereby exhausting beginningless ignorance and the dust-like afflictions, ultimately attaining Omniscient Wisdom.
