Sentient Beings Listen to Deception, Not to Advice

Brainwashing uses glib and eloquent means to cater to sentient beings' greedy desires; sentient beings easily believe it, and thus, through subtle influence, they become tainted and conditioned. Positive education, on the other hand, often runs counter to greed and desire, so sentient beings find it hard to accept and hard to be influenced by it. It is easy for Māra to make sentient beings fall under demonic influence, but difficult for the Buddha to make sentient beings enter the Buddha's state; therefore, sentient beings listen to deception rather than to admonition.
