There is not the slightest dharma that can grasp any other dharma. The grasping seven consciousnesses and the grasped myriad dharmas—whether ten thousand, millions, or billions—are all empty and illusory. All dharmas are but reflections of the eighth consciousness; their essence is entirely the eighth consciousness. Sentient beings can only perceive reflections, and all reflections are empty. There is no grasping seven-consciousness mind, nor are there grasped objective dharmas. Not the slightest dharma exists that can grasp another dharma. Apart from the eighth consciousness, all is empty and illusory. The grasping seven consciousnesses are empty; all grasped appearing aspects are empty. Apart from emptiness, there is only emptiness—yet the eighth consciousness is not empty. When bodhisattvas realize this wisdom, they enter the Tathagata's family.
