The deliberative consciousness must apply deliberate attention and proper contemplation to all matters, which simultaneously enables the mind faculty to comprehend correct principles. Gradually, the mind faculty becomes attuned to these principles; this process is called conditioning the mind faculty. The deliberative consciousness must contemplate; if it does not contemplate, it cannot condition the mind faculty. When the deliberative consciousness frequently contemplates certain principles, causing the mind faculty to comply, the mind faculty, once conditioned, can form new habitual functions, thereby transforming the deep-seated habits already formed.
