The equanimity among the eleven wholesome mental factors refers to the state where one originally intended to retaliate against others in some way but now abandons such retaliation. It corresponds to the unconditioned, aligns with wholesome mental states, and involves relinquishing unwholesome actions while cultivating wholesome ones. Retaliating against others is an unwholesome mental factor, constituting a conditioned unwholesome action.
