Worship Can Delay One's Own Cultivation of the Path

If a Buddhist practitioner lacks rationality and wisdom, harbors a mentality of worshipping celebrities and fame, and likes to memorize the words of famous people without engaging in one's own reflection and deliberation, then one's thinking and train of thought will easily be restricted and obstructed—and it will be very difficult to break through these limitations even in future lives and the lives after those, merely delaying one's progress on the Path. How regrettable that would be!
