Hearing a statement or observing an event, ten people will have ten different views, and a hundred people will have a hundred different opinions. Why is this so? Because each person's mind consciousness differs, leading to different perceptions; different perceptions lead to different feelings; different feelings lead to different reactions; different reactions lead to different speech, actions, and karmic formations. Since mind consciousness does not attain unified perception, and each individual possesses their own level of understanding, it is impossible to reach a consensus on any single matter. Without consensus, facilitating the development and success of any endeavor becomes extremely difficult. This, indeed, is why worldly affairs are so challenging!
On the other hand, it is said that all Buddhas share the same path. Why do they share the same path? Because each Buddha's cultivation has already reached perfection. Since it is perfection, it means the ultimate has been attained. All having reached the ultimate, their level is certainly identical. Moreover, they are identical in every aspect, most importantly in their wisdom. Therefore, every Buddha holds the same view on any matter; there will never be disagreement or dispute among them. This means that the higher the wisdom a sage attains through cultivation, the fewer disagreements exist among them, the more common ground they share, and the more harmoniously and tacitly they can cooperate, achieving consensus.
Therefore, the goal of our cultivation is to enhance our own wisdom, transforming our ordinary knowledge and views into genuine insight. The knowledge and views attained after enlightenment are called insight. And as we make this insight increasingly perfect, all matters will become perfectly harmonious without obstruction.
