Perfect the Conditions for Seeing the Way in Order to Achieve Cultivation

A: In the Dharma Ending Age, those who achieve results are all like those who have taken rebirth through vows. Those who have not yet achieved results can only lay a solid foundation for practice, establish proper and correct cultivation habits, and plan for the long term.

B: Even a returning Bodhisattva requires several years of cultivation to yield results once again. It is not that a returning Bodhisattva needs a longer time—ten, twenty, or thirty years—achievements do not come about in a short period. Each person can only compare with themselves; if they can make significant progress compared to their present and past selves, their cultivation is effective. Rome wasn’t built in a day. During the intermediate stages, one must perfect the various causes and conditions for seeing the Way, which is extremely difficult. Of course, realizing the Way through consciousness alone is very simple and easy—it requires no intermediate process, no perfecting of the conditions for seeing the Way; one only needs a sharp mind.
