Dharma Teachings

All Phenomena Are Buddha Dharma, All Actions Are Buddha's Affairs

All sharp blades are projected from the mind, not from elsewhere. Therefore, to harm others is to harm oneself; to benefit others is to benefit oneself!

All sentient beings are shooting arrows and being shot within the One True Dharma Realm; all are shooting at the One True Dharma Realm, yet the One True Dharma Realm remains unharmed and undiminished. Failure to comprehend this principle is ignorance. With profound ignorance, one will inevitably sink into the cycle of birth and death and cannot attain liberation!

The One True Dharma Realm is like a vast net, interweaving all phenomena—ten thousand phenomena, billions upon billions of phenomena, infinitely and boundlessly—within itself. The Tathagatagarbha, the unmoving ground of enlightenment, pervades all places and encompasses all dharmas; not a single dharma lies beyond it. The manas (mind faculty) follows it, pervading all places and cognizing all dharmas, without the need for coming or going, without movement. The six consciousnesses follow the manas, also without the need for coming or going; all discernment, discrimination, and activity occur within the Tathagatagarbha. None depart from the ground of enlightenment, yet all perform the work of the Buddha.

Within the Buddha’s ground of enlightenment, whatever is done is the work of the Buddha. Even when Māra Pāpīyas seeks to destroy the Dharma, it is still the work of the Buddha. There are no demonic acts, because all dharmas are the Buddha Dharma, all are the Tathagatagarbha. Nothing transcends the Tathagatagarbha; nothing transcends the One True Dharma Realm. Therefore, Māra does not perform demonic acts; demonic acts are none other than the Buddha’s work—no distinction, no difference! If anyone discriminates between Māra and Buddha, this is ignorance. If ignorance is not eradicated, one cannot attain Buddhahood.
