Original text: Regarding the impermanence manifested through separation from external objects: It refers to the material possessions for livelihood that are presently possessed. Previously, they had not undergone change, had not been separated from, and had not been destroyed by impermanence. Later, they are confiscated by a king, stolen by thieves, plundered by unloved ones, lost by becoming common property with others, destroyed through violent actions or forceful means, or sought after with effort yet unobtainable. From phenomena such as these, one should understand that this is called recognizing the nature of impermanence through the phenomenon of separation.
