Original text:

Explanation: For one who is able to diligently cultivate in this way of practice, at all times one should correctly observe whether all afflictions have already been eliminated or not yet eliminated; at all times, toward the phenomena that are to be loathed, one should deeply loathe and depart from them; at all times, toward the phenomena that are to be rejoiced in, one should deeply rejoice in and yearn for them. This is called the mental engagement of gathering joy The practitioner, by drawing near to and cultivating this mental engagement of gathering joy, and cultivating it repeatedly, is able to eliminate once and for all, without remainder, all the afflictions to be eliminated through the path of cultivation; thus the final stage of learning is born—this stage is likened to the vajra meditative concentration (samādhi). Because this final stage of learning is born, one is able to eliminate forever all the afflictions to be eliminated through the path of cultivation.
