What is wisdom? Wisdom is the ability to identify, recognize, and solve problems. Possessing rigorous logical thinking capabilities allows one to resolve problems thoroughly and flawlessly—this is wisdom. What is logic? Logic encompasses the methods, sequence, perspective, depth, and levels of thinking. Through such thinking, one can locate the starting point and focal area for addressing a problem, progressively delving deeper to grasp its root cause and penetrate to its core, thereby resolving it comprehensively and completely, leaving no aspect unaddressed. This is the power of wisdom.
By skillfully applying logical thinking, one can generate boundless wisdom to solve endless problems. If one has not yet mastered logical thinking, they should carefully observe each short essay I have written or my remarks in group discussions, paying close attention to my approach, methods, and perspective in addressing each issue. Note how I progressively elaborate on problems, reveal their essence, and the logical connections between sentences and paragraphs.
Clarifying the sequence for solving problems, like peeling off silk cocoons layer by layer, will lead to exceptionally rapid growth in wisdom—this is what it means to be logical. For instance, consider the discussion we had recently on the topic of transcendence and salvation. By observing the sequence of my thinking and the entire process of resolving that issue, it becomes evident that my line of thought was clear and methodical, ultimately leading to a reasonable conclusion. In truth, during the process of elaborating on the problem, the final conclusion was not yet known; it was only by systematically unfolding the issue step by step that the correct conclusion emerged at the end, provided no errors occurred along the way. The initial starting point, focal area, and sequence being correct are crucial. This approach allows one to penetrate directly to the root of the problem and grasp its fundamental nature—this is logical thinking power. Possessing this ability gives rise to wisdom. By thinking through problems in this manner, any issue can be resolved properly and lawfully.
