To subdue the mind and attain concentration while reciting mantras, the tone must be drawn out and low, without raising the pitch or excessive melody, to avoid triggering emotional fluctuations within the heart, mental agitation, and difficulty achieving stillness. With insufficient concentration and a scattered mind, recitation becomes hard to remember. Before reciting, adjust your breathing by taking several deep breaths; this will help calm the mind. Then, with focused attention and strong concentration, the effectiveness of memorization will improve.
