How is this principle to be truly apprehended? Consciousness can grasp the general idea by merely thinking about it, yet you yourself can recognize that this is not genuine understanding. It requires deep and precise comprehension of its meaning, grounded in reason and evidence. This necessitates placing this principle steadily in the forefront of the mind during meditation, allowing the mental faculty to contemplate it single-mindedly, engaging in continuous, meticulous reflection moment after moment. The contemplation by the mental faculty is subtle, continuous, and free from clinging to objects; it possesses a certain height and depth, which is called viewing from a higher perspective.
