Liturgy of Buddha Worship and Confession

Disciple [Name], from beginningless time until this present life, has destroyed faith in the Three Jewels and become an icchantika. Now, before the Three Jewels of the Ten Directions and all beings of the Six Realms, I sincerely repent of the transgressions of the three times. Regarding the ten evil karmas committed by body, speech, and mind in the present: may they never arise again, throughout all future kalpas. Regarding the ten evil karmas committed by body, speech, and mind in the future: may they never arise, throughout all future kalpas. Regarding the ten evil karmas committed by body, speech, and mind in the past: may they never arise, throughout all future kalpas.

I beseech the Buddhas of the Ten Directions and Three Times, with great compassion, to pity and have mercy upon me. I dwell in Samsara without refuge, constantly unaware in the long night of birth and death. I, an ordinary being, am bound by all fetters; my deluded and confused mind perversely grasps at objects everywhere. I dwell within the burning house of the Three Realms, deludedly stained by the Six Dusts with no protection. I was born into a poor and lowly family, lacking freedom and constantly suffering. I was born into parents' family holding wrong views, creating transgressions relying on evil companions.

I beseech all Buddhas, the Great Compassionate Ones, to pity, protect, and remember me as an only child. With this one repentance, I will not create transgressions again. The Tathagatas of the Three Times shall bear witness, bestowing upon me the Bodhisattva's Trividha-sila. I vow to uphold it steadfastly without regression, diligently cultivate to liberate suffering beings, and strive to liberate others before attaining liberation myself, ceaselessly throughout all future kalpas.

I implore all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the Ten Directions and Three Times to bless and empower me: may my evil karma be eradicated, may my wholesome roots increase, and may they bestow upon me the Bodhisattva's Trividha-sila. May I henceforth be able to receive and uphold the Trividha-sila: to benefit all sentient beings, to cultivate and gather all wholesome dharmas, and to cultivate and uphold all precepts.
