Black Box World (25)

When one cultivates to attain the Wisdom of Consciousness-Only, upon contact with another person, they can perceive a portion of the other's karmic seeds, will know the general circumstances of that person's past life, and can judge the probable conditions of their future life, often discerning people with great accuracy. The two Tathāgatagarbhas can communicate with each other. A person with the Wisdom of Consciousness-Only can perceive the general situation of the other party through their own mind-consciousness accessing their own Tathāgatagarbha. For someone without this wisdom, it is very difficult. Therefore, sometimes, sentient beings themselves are not yet aware of their own mental conduct, yet others already know it, understanding them even better than they know themselves. When a person speaks, they themselves may feel there is nothing significant, yet much of their information is revealed without their awareness. Information about the other party can be perceived from various aspects. Of course, face-to-face interaction yields greater accuracy, as one can observe the other's facial features, expressions, speech, their manifest forms and non-manifest forms, appearance, temperament, and subtle aura, etc., leading to a more comprehensive and precise understanding. These are all forms of wisdom that the Tathāgatagarbha bestows upon the mind-consciousness.
