How to Maximize the Function of Manas?

Blind individuals possess exceptionally acute auditory faculties, while the deaf-mute exhibit heightened visual faculties. Those with impaired language function often demonstrate strong manual dexterity; those skilled in speech frequently lack practical ability. Animals possess limited cognitive capacity but remarkably sharp intuition. Why is this so?

Individuals with extraordinary brains and special talents share a common characteristic. For instance, painters, musicians, various artists, and scientists—all who achieve mastery in their fields—share the trait of possessing certain defects that set them apart from ordinary people. These may be either physiological or psychological deficiencies, causing them to feel somewhat disoriented in mundane life, out of harmony with conventional society, and often acting contrary to common norms and reasoning. Why is this?

A master switch controls seven faucets. When one faucet is shut off, the flow from the other six increases; when two faucets are closed, the flow from the remaining five grows stronger; when three faucets are shut, the other four experience heightened flow. When six faucets are closed, the single remaining faucet exhibits the greatest flow, with overwhelming force.

The six sense faculties follow the same principle. When the eye faculty is shut off, the functions of the other five faculties intensify. Upon further shutting off the ear faculty, the remaining four faculties become enhanced. When the tongue faculty and nose faculty are then closed, the body faculty and mind faculty strengthen significantly. Finally, upon shutting off the body faculty, the mind faculty reaches its maximum function. When the mind faculty itself ceases functioning, Nirvana is attained—there is no more flow.
