Question: Delusion is originally causeless, yet it arises due to delusion. Does this contradict the law of dependent origination?
Answer: There is no contradiction. Since beginningless time, the mental faculty has inherently contained ignorance within the mind's essence without any specific cause for its emergence. There exists no actual cause that produced this ignorance; it arises solely because the mental faculty is deluded and inverted. Due to this ignorance within the mental faculty, the Tathāgatagarbha gives rise to all subsequent phenomena, thus the twelve links of dependent origination arise.
