The so-called deliverance of sentient beings does not mean forcibly transforming beings burdened by heavy karmic obstacles into saints all at once. Rather, it involves elevating their cultivation to a certain level, achieving significant progress compared to their former state. It is impossible for them to become saints immediately. The consequence of uprooting seedlings to hasten growth is delivering beings to their demise, casting them into the three evil realms, and leading to the destruction of Buddhism. When the causes and conditions for becoming a saint are not yet ripe, one can only engage in continuous cultivation over a long period until their character approaches that of a saint. Only then can they be delivered beyond the state of ordinary beings. Hastily seeking quick results in delivering others merely severs heads from bodies—the mind remains that of an ordinary being, severed from its source.
