Turning the Light Inward to the Auditory Nature, Without Falling into Sound and Voice

To delve deeply into one of the Eighteen Realms through dedicated practice is to contemplate one realm among them, thereby awakening to the True Reality of the Dharma Realm, attaining Samadhi, and ultimately realizing great wisdom. For instance, when beginning cultivation through the ear faculty, one must engage in contemplative practice focused on the auditory nature. By introspecting into the arising and ceasing of the auditory nature within the ear faculty, one can discover the true, non-arising and non-ceasing auditory nature. At this stage, one must avoid falling into the sounds themselves or pondering the content within the sounds. Only then can one uncover the essence and true nature of the auditory faculty.
