The Precognition of Manas

Question: Every time before I go on a business trip, I inexplicably feel a sense of loss in my heart, with slight tightness in my chest. As a result, when I arrive there, the conditions for daily necessities like food and accommodation are poor. So before traveling, I first observe my inner state—if there's an inexplicable sense of loss, it basically means the destination will have poor living conditions. Can this clumsy method also be used to observe the mental faculty?

Answer: By simply understanding the functional nature of the mental faculty, one can also gain some insight into it, recognizing its general habitual tendencies, afflictions, and pure nature. The mental faculty is very particular about enjoyment and prefers comfort, hence it is unwilling to encounter relatively poor and harsh environments. Therefore, before changing environments, it directs attention to make the consciousness aware, aiming for the consciousness to find a solution to this issue. If the mental faculty is displeased, the body will show abnormalities; if the mental faculty is pleased, the body will also show abnormalities, because the body is controlled by the mental faculty, expressing its thoughts and emotions.
