What Is True Contemplative Realization?

Contemplate and practice (vipaśyanā-caryā) the dharma that needs to be investigated and realized through meditative concentration (samādhi); the deeper the concentration, the better. Forget everything around you, and within the mind there is only the dharma-meaning without language, words, or sounds—only deep questioning doubt, deep deliberation (manasikāra), seemingly investigating yet not investigating, seemingly deliberating yet not deliberating, continuous and never departing, existing as if not existing, dim and obscure—unable to pick it up, yet unable to throw it away. If you accomplish this kind of work, realization is only a matter of time. Be sure not to call thinking without meditative concentration contemplative practice (vipaśyanā-caryā), and do not take the results of the mind consciousness's shallow pondering as realization.
