Original text: Ananda, for all practitioners of the mind in the world, without relying on dhyana, there is no wisdom.
Explanation: The Buddha said that for all practitioners of the mind in the world, if they do not rely on dhyana, it is impossible to give birth to wisdom. Only with dhyana can one subdue one's own mind; when the mind is purified, one can effectively observe, practice, and investigate, thereby realizing and giving birth to wisdom. If there is no dhyana, the mind is like muddy water, not reflecting clearly, unable to observe, practice, and think deeply and quietly; one can only understand through emotional thoughts and ideas, and cannot realize it. Those who say this speak the Buddha's words; those who do not say this speak the devil's words.
