Karmic Actions and Retribution

There is no karmic action that lacks retribution, so everyone must be extremely, extremely careful and cautious in what they say and do, and must not act recklessly or speak nonsense the moment they open their mouth—especially regarding the Buddha's teachings, one must not just assume things according to one's own notions. The Buddha said that before attaining the fruit of arhatship, one should not trust one's own mind; one's own mind is not to be believed. Once one creates evil karma with respect to the Buddha's teachings, the suffering of the Avīci Hell is countless times greater than anything in the human world—it is simply unbearable.
