The Pseudo Essence-Carrying Object Perceived by the Sixth Consciousness (manovijñāna)

When the mind takes material form as its object, it is like an imparted object; the object-aspect in between arises from a single source. This refers precisely to the function of the six consciousnesses in seeing form. The object-aspect manifests only within the minds of the six consciousnesses and is not transmitted any further—it stops right here. Because it is already false and without essence, how could something that is not a real dharma be transmitted any further? What real affairs or real dharmas are there in the world? Once this is seen through, in a single thought one suddenly transcends, and everything returns to voidness and stillness; from then on, all under heaven is at peace.
