Beat the Five Aggregates to Death, and Your Dharmakāya Lives

Question: "Only when the five aggregates die will your Dharmakāya come alive" — what does this mean? If it does not die, it cannot come alive — what does that mean?

Answer: Everyone's Dharmakāya is operating at every moment, sustaining the activities of the five-aggregate body and upholding the eighteen realms. However, sentient beings do not recognize the Dharmakāya, so having it is the same as not having it; in this way, the Dharmakāya is as if dead. Why do sentient beings not recognize the Dharmakāya? It is because their minds are obscured by the dark clouds of the five-aggregate body — they see only the five-aggregate body before their eyes and do not see the Dharmakāya behind it. If one wishes to see the Dharmakāya and let it come alive, one must use prajñā wisdom to part the dark clouds of the five aggregates; then the Dharmakāya behind them will vividly and lively reveal itself.
