An ordinary being (pṛthagjana) means being born at a different time, in a different place, and in a different class of existence—that is, after death, one is born again at another, different time, in a different location, and among a different class of beings, receiving different karmic retribution. "Different time" means taking rebirth after the antarā-bhava (the neutrino-body) has ended. "Different place" means it could be in the heavens, in hell, in the form realm, or on some other celestial body—this is not fixed. "Different class of existence" means taking on a different identity among the six realms of existence: perhaps as a human, a deva, a ghost, an animal, or an asura—and this too is not certain.
