(二十六)原文:如无明缘行道理。如是爱缘取。取缘有道理。当知亦尔。如行缘识道理。如是有缘生。当知亦尔。如识缘名色道理。生缘老死。当知亦尔。
释:Just as in the principle of ignorance conditioning volitional formations, so too the principle of craving conditioning grasping, and grasping conditioning existence—you should know it is likewise. Just as in the principle of volitional formations conditioning consciousness, so too is existence conditioning birth; and just as in the principle of consciousness conditioning name-and-form, so too is birth conditioning aging and death.
By the same principle, you should contemplate in this way the following links: with the non-arising of what kind of name-and-form, there would be no six sense bases, and with the cessation of what kind of name-and-form, the six sense bases cease; with the non-arising of what kind of six sense bases, there would be no contact, and with the cessation of what kind of six sense bases, contact ceases; with the non-arising of what kind of contact, there would be no feeling, and with the cessation of what kind of contact, feeling ceases. With the non-arising of what kind of craving, there would be no grasping, and with the cessation of what kind of craving, grasping ceases; with the non-arising of what kind of grasping, there would be no existence, and with the cessation of what kind of grasping, existence ceases; with the non-arising of what kind of existence, there would be no birth, and with the cessation of what kind of existence, birth ceases; with the non-arising of what kind of birth, there would be no aging and death, and with the cessation of what kind of birth, aging and death cease. All of these questions must be carefully contemplated one by one through contemplative practice (vipaśyanā-caryā) within meditative concentration (samādhi).
原文:问。何等受不有。故爱不有。何等受灭。故爱灭耶。答。如行缘识道理。当知亦尔。
释:Question: With the non-arising of what kind of feeling is there no craving? With the cessation of what kind of feeling does craving cease? Answer: It is just like the principle of volitional formations conditioning consciousness—you should know it is likewise. Because the three kinds of feeling are in operation, and once the operation is complete they cease; if there is no antidote applied to feeling, feeling will continue to operate without end. Because of the existence of feeling, craving arises in its wake. If feeling ceases and no longer feels any dharma, then craving for dharmas will no longer arise; if all feeling ceases, then all craving ceases.
