All wealth is stored in the eighth consciousness like a computer; if the manas does not function, the wealth does not manifest. When the manas wants to obtain wealth, worldly phenomena of the three realms, or to attain Buddhahood, the eighth consciousness transports all wealth out to be used by the manas, and the manas uses it through the six consciousnesses and the five aggregates, regarding the five aggregates and six consciousnesses as tools it uses for itself, just like the hands and feet are used by the body. All dharmas are for the use of the manas; the eighth consciousness does not use them; it is the manas that is attached to all dharmas and needs all dharmas. The manas is the greatest self; if it does not regard itself as self, does not regard the five aggregates and six consciousnesses as self and mine, and does not regard all dharmas as self and mine, then everything will be fine, the attachment to self and dharmas will be completely severed, and there will be more than enough for attaining Buddhahood.
