The mind consciousness needs to think through the problem carefully, understand it clearly, and condense the entire meaning of the problem into a single point, deeply suspended in the heart of the manas. In this way, the problem is handed over to the manas. At this point, the mind consciousness may think or may not think; sometimes it needs to think, and sometimes it needs to remain quiet and refrain from thinking. It is best to cooperate with the manas and not scatter the attention of oneself or the manas, because if the mind consciousness is busy with other affairs, it will inevitably transmit information to the manas, increasing the manas's burden and preventing the manas from concentrating, so that it cannot deliberate (manasikāra) and arrive at the correct result.
