What Is Seeing the Mind and Seeing One's Nature?

Seeing the mind and seeing the nature means understanding the mind that is the tathāgatagarbha, realizing the tathāgatagarbha, the mind of self-nature's intrinsic purity (prakṛti-viśuddha), and seeing the nature of the tathāgatagarbha — that is, seeing the Buddha-nature. This is the deluded mind seeing the true mind. Because the deluded mind has always had ignorance (avidyā) and does not know what the true reality of the dharmadhātu is, it takes the world of the five aggregates (pañca-skandha) as real, as self and what belongs to self, and thus there is the grasping of self and the grasping of dharmas. After realizing the tathāgatagarbha, the true reality of the dharmadhātu, one then knows that all dharmas are manifested and revealed by the tathāgatagarbha and are not real, and one will gradually eradicate the grasping of self and the grasping of dharmas, thereby completely severing beginningless ignorance (āvaraṇa) and the delusions as numerous as dust and sand, and attaining omniscience/wisdom of all aspects (sarvākārajñatā).
