Bodhisattva Maitreya in the Shurangama Sutra on the Practice of the Contemplation of Consciousness-Only

The nature of consciousness flows forth immeasurable Tathāgatas. This statement is extremely crucial; every dharma effused by the Tathāgatagarbha is entirely the Tathāgatagarbha, entirely the Tathāgata; every dharma is true Suchness.

Truthfully contemplating that the ten directions are consciousness-only, the conscious mind is perfectly luminous, one enters the perfectly accomplished consciousness, transcends the other-dependent and the thoroughly conceptualized, and attains the patience of non-arising.

Carefully observing that the worlds of the ten directions, down to the minutest dust-particle, are all the perfectly accomplished conscious nature of the Tathāgatagarbha alone, manifested and projected by the Tathāgatagarbha, all are the nature of the Tathāgatagarbha; the conscious mind, the Tathāgatagarbha, perfectly and wondrously luminous, presents all dharmas. After contemplating thus, one is able to enter into the Tathāgatagarbha of one's own mind, thoroughly transfers and relies upon the Tathāgatagarbha completely and ultimately, no longer relying on the six consciousness minds of other-dependent nature, nor relying on the seventh consciousness of thoroughly conceptualized nature, but relies entirely on the true mind's self-nature, relies on the true Suchness Buddha-nature. It is realized that all dharmas are the Tathāgatagarbha, that none has ever truly arisen, that the self-nature of the Tathāgatagarbha is unarisen and fundamentally existent, whereupon the attachment to dharmas is severed.
