The Discriminated Nature of True Suchness (Tathatā)

Suchness is free from discrimination; it has no discriminating mind and does not discriminate among the six sense objects and the myriad dharmas, yet it can cooperate with the seven consciousnesses in their discriminations. Its discriminations are never concerned with the six sense objects. It can discern the karmic seeds of sentient beings and creates sentient beings in accordance with those karmic seeds: those who have done the karma of being human are given human bodies, and those who have done the karma of animals are given animal bodies, never in any confusion. In accordance with the karma of sentient beings, it brings about their karmic retribution with not the slightest discrepancy, and in accordance with their karma it creates their living environments. It can discern the mental activities of the seven consciousnesses; whatever the seven consciousnesses are about to do, He knows it, and so He transmits the seeds of consciousness, enabling the seven consciousnesses to function. These discriminations are numerous and subtle and cannot all be described one by one. Once you have realized Him, you will be able to express Him in words, describe Him, and point Him out, and you will also be able to tell others how to realize Him.
