Master Kuiji entered samādhi in a past life for several thousand years; if the manas were not concentrated, how could he have remained in samādhi for thousands of years? In this samādhi there are no six consciousnesses, otherwise one could not remain in samādhi for long. The meditative concentration of the non-Buddhists is also very powerful—they can remain in samādhi for eighty thousand great kalpas. This simultaneously proves that the manas corresponds with the mental factor of meditative concentration (samādhi).
