The severance of the view of self is the observation and realization of the unreality, emptiness, and selflessness of the five aggregates; it is not about transforming the body into any particular state. Altering the body relies on the power of meditative concentration. Without severing the view of self, one may still change the material body through meditative concentration alone, rendering it incomplete or damaged, and only then confirm the selflessness of the material body. Do those who are paralyzed or disabled not still harbor a deep-seated view of self? If one could transform the material body into gold through observation, the view of self might become even stronger. The key lies in transforming one's intellectual understanding, directly perceiving that the material body is false, empty, and unreal. Change the mind; there is no need to alter the body. Do not visualize becoming a disabled person. What if meditative power intensifies and the body genuinely develops problems—wouldn't that be disastrous? Simply observe that the body is composed of components.
