Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra, Volume 34 (45)

Original text:

Explanation: Why is this said? Because where the bonds such as craving arise, bonds such as craving are produced; where the fetters such as greed arise, fetters such as greed are produced; thus one gathers together birth, old age, sickness, death, sorrow, grief, worry, and suffering—all afflictions and the aggregate of great suffering in its purity. In this way, again, in all the aggregates that are with outflows and subject to grasping, and that accord with feelings that are neither painful nor pleasant, one enters into the contemplative practice (vipaśyanā-caryā) of suffering through unsteady conduct. Why is this said? Because all the aggregates that are with outflows and subject to grasping, and that accord with feelings that are neither painful nor pleasant, operate together with the innate afflictive obstruction (kleśāvaraṇa), are pursued by the seeds of suffering and pleasure, and because the suffering of suffering and the suffering of decay are not liberated, all dharmas are impermanent dharmas of arising and ceasing.
