Which consciousness is involved in amnesia?

There are people who suffer from amnesia, and there are also elderly Parkinson's patients who have forgotten who they are, as well as their relationships with all the people and matters around them. This problem is a problem of consciousness and is related to the supreme faculty (indriya). Would the manas forget?

If a person suffering from amnesia is cured of the illness, their memory will be restored, which shows that the manas has always known all past dharmas. When a person with amnesia encounters certain people and matters, they will also vaguely feel as if they seem familiar, which shows that the manas knows them. When a person with amnesia strives to recall and tries to recover their memory, it is the manas's perception (saṃjñā) that prompts the mind consciousness to strive to think of ways to do so.
