Wherever attention is, one feels that thoughts are there.

Question: For the past two days while sitting in meditation and reciting the Buddha's name, previously the recitation would disappear before my eyes and I could no longer recite it. Starting yesterday, I felt this thought vanish from below my navel. Will this lead to going astray?

Answer: This is merely a matter of attention. Wherever your attention is placed, that is where you feel the thought to be. When the mind is kept at the dantian, the qi arrives at the dantian, the body's qi meridians are unobstructed, and the mind is pure, it becomes easy for thoughts not to arise. So there is no danger of going astray.
